Carlos Alcaraz: Nadal hits the ball very hard
The second in the ATP ranking and four-time Grand Slam champion Carlos Alcaraz spoke about the form of his compatriot Rafael Nadal ahead of their upcoming match at the Six Kings Slam exhibition tennis tournament.
“I am not surprised that Rafael Nadal is playing 100% in training. He hits the ball very hard and has a very good feel for it. He is a player, a legend and it does not matter that he has not played tennis for three or four months. He will come back as strong as ever”, said Carlos Alcaraz after defeating Holger Rune (Denmark) by 2-0 (6:4, 6:2) in his first match of the tournament.
In addition to Carlos Alcaraz and Rafael Nadal, also Novak Djokovic (Serbia) and the world’s number one Jannik Sinner (Italy) are participating in the tournament in Riyadh. All participants will receive at least 1.5 million USD, and the champion will receive 6 million USD.
It will be Rafael Nadal’s first match since crashing out of the Paris 2024 Olympics in July and first since announcing last week that he will retire after playing for Spain in next month’s Davis Cup.
