The Netherlands qualified for the finals after winning the doubles match with Wesley Koolhof and Botic van de Zandschulp won versus Simone Bolelli and Andrea Vavassori.
Spain rested Carlos Alcaraz but took a hard-fought 2-1 win over Australia in Valencia. In doubles, Marcel Granollers and Pedro Martinez defeated Matthew Ebden and Max Purcell by 2-1 (5:7 6:4, 6:4), which proved decisive.
Pablo Carreno Busta had given the Spaniards the lead with success over Jordan Thompson after 2-1 (2:6, 6:2, 7:6(3)), and Alexei Popyrin had equalized against Pedro Martinez after a straight-set victory of 2-0 (6:4, 6:4).
