Beatriz Haddad Maia made fantastic comeback to win the WTA 500 Korea Open title
Beatriz Haddad Maia (Brazil) won the WTA 500 Korea Open hard court tennis tournament in Seoul (Republic of Korea) with a prize pool of 922,572 USD.
The third-seeded Brazilian tennis player defeated in the final the top-seeded Daria Kasatkina (Russia) by 2-1 (1:6, 6:4, 6:1) in 1:52 hours of play. The match was quite hard for Beatriz Haddad Maia, who lost the first set and was one break behind in the second set, before achieving fantastic comeback. For the Brazilian tennis player it is first title for the season and the fourth in her career.
The top-seeded Daria Kasatkina made three double faults and converted three break points out of seven opportunities. The Brazilian served two aces and was effective on break opportunities, converting four of five opportunities.
Daria Kasatkina lost her fourth final out of five this season. The first Russian player won the only victory of the tournament in Innsbruck.
