There were no breaks again in the fourth set. In the tiebreak, Taylor Fritz was more stable again and achieved success.
This is the first semi-final of a “Grand Slam” tournament for the American tennis player.
“I’ve lost a lot of quarterfinals, but I wanted this to be another one of them. I wanted to take this important step, and I’m glad that it’s happening right here in front of a home audience”, said Taylor Fritz.
After that, the competitor also comments on which key moments of his preparation helped him reach victory.
“It is difficult to play against an opponent with a strong serve and I have worked a lot on this part of the game. So I was prepared for what to expect and I think I played this game the right way. I think I deserve this victory”, added Taylor Fritz. “For sure the audience wants to see a match between me and Francis, so I’ll keep my fingers crossed for him. But whoever my opponent is, I will do what is necessary to be ready”, concluded he.
