Boris Becker: Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz are Novak Djokovic and Roger Federer of the future
Six-time Grand Slam champion Boris Becker compared the world’s number one Jannik Sinner and world’s number two
Carlos Alcaraz to two of the great tennis players of the last two decades, Novak Djokovic and Roger Federer.
“We can call Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz – Novak Djokovic and Roger Federer of the future. Roger and Nole entered the history of the sport, as did Rafa. Carlos Alcaraz’s style of play on the level of beauty is more like that of the Swiss, although his idol has always been Rafa. Can Jannik ever be as dominant as Nole? But don’t put too much weight on these players: winning 24 Grand Slams is superhuman, as is 428 weeks at the number one. There’s only one Novak Djokovic and Roger Federer and only one Rafael Nadal. But I think that with these guys, tennis is really in very good hands”, said Boris Becker.
Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz won two Grand Slam titles each this season, but also dominated the court.
