Novak Djokovic moves ahead at the ATP Masters 1000 Shanghai

Novak Djokovic qualified for the Round of 16 of the strong tennis tournament ATP Masters 1000 Shanghai after decisively defeating Flavio Cobolli (Italy) by 2-0 (6:1, 6:2). The former world’s number 1 won the match in just over an hour of play.

Flavio Cobolli, who knocked out Swiss veteran Stan Wawrinka in the previous round, had no resistance against the four-time champion. Novak Djokovic made two breaks in both set and promptly continues in the next round, where will face the unseeded Roman Safiullin.

The Russian surprised US Open semifinalist Frances Tiafoe (USA) and defeated him dramatically by 2-1 (5:7, 7:5, 7:6). With success over Roman Safiullin and victory of Grigor Dimitrov over Jakub Mensik, Djokovic and Dimitrov will face each other in the quarter-finals.
