Stefanos Tsitsipas eliminated Alexandre Muller to advance to Round of 16 at the ATP Masters 1000 Shanghai

Stefanos Tsitsipas (Greece) will renew his rivalry with 5th-seeded Daniil Medvedev (Russia) after defeating Alexandre Muller at the ATP Masters 1000 Shanghai with prize money of 9 million USD.

The success for Stefanos Tsitsipas came after 2-0 (6:3, 7:5), and the upcoming match will be 14th in his rivalry with Daniil Medvedev and their first meeting in nearly a year.

The Stefanos Tsitsipas vs Alexandre Muller match was delayed by a day due to heavy rain over Shanghai. The 10th-seeded dictated the tempo of the game until he lost his serve in an attempt to close out the match at 5:3 in the second set. Alexandre Muller equalized, but Stefanos Tsitsipas was able to break in the 12th game to seal his success.

Stefanos Tsitsipas recorded his 200th win on hard courts in his first match in Shanghai against Kei Nishikori (Japan). After firing 14 aces against the Japanese player, the Greek added seven more to his tally today.
