Grigor Dimitrov is not thinking of retiring after his 100th ATP Masters 1000 match
Bulgarian tennis player Grigor Dimitrov said that he enjoys tennis and does not think about giving up the sport soon after the victory in Shanghai against Zizou Bergs (Belgium) by 2-1 (6:3, 3:6, 6:2) in his jubilee match number 100 in tournaments from the ATP Masters 1000 series.
“It’s funny, 100 is a lot, that’s a lot of Masters tournaments. Everything that comes my way now brings only benefits. One of the main things I’ve learned over the years is to appreciate what I do. When you look back and think about it, it hits you in a funny, good way. And suddenly you see the past as too far away, so I try not to think about it too much, especially now that I’m here. I’m clearly aware of it, but I don’t trying to chase numbers or achieve something like that. Rather, whatever happens, it’s a bonus for me at this point, considering everything I’ve been through on and off the court”, said Grigor Dimitrov after the victory. “I still have a lot of tennis ahead of me. It’s about how I deal with it and how I put myself in a position to enjoy every moment when I go out to play and not think too much about the result. It’s very difficult, especially when you play very well and are in the top 10, and you want more, but you need patience or persistence”, added he at the press conference.
Dimitrov made his debut at the Masters tournaments in the main circuit in Miami in 2011.
