Russian tennis talent Mirra Andreeva qualified for the quarterfinals of the strong tennis tournament WTA 1000 China Open in Beijing (with a prize fund of almost 9 million USD. The 17-year-old tennis player decisively won over the Magda Linette (Poland) by 2-0 (6:1, 6:3) in 73 minutes.
The Russian teenager won the first five games of the match on her way to victory in the first set, and in the second she conceded an early break but then took five of the next six games, which proved decisive.
The victory guarantees Mirra Andreeva a debut in the Top 20 of the world rankings.
For a place in the semi-finals, Mirra Andreeva will face the Paris 2024 Olympics champion and fifth-seeded Qinwen Zheng (China), who eliminated Amanda Anisimova (USA) after 2-1 (3:6, 6:1, 6:2)
