Carlos Alcaraz: After the first set, it was easier for me to play with confidence
The second-seeded Carlos Alcaraz (Spain), who will be playing in the final of the ATP 500 China Open tennis tournament in Beijing for the first time in his career, said that both he and Daniil Medvedev had started well in the semi-final match between them.
Carlos Alcaraz defeated Daniil Medvedev by 2-0 (7:5, 6:3) in the semi-finals and to make a fantastic match for the trophy against Jannik Sinner (Italy), last year’s winner.
“I think we both started the match really well. It was a bit unusual to have so many breaks in the first set”, said the Spanish tennis player. “I’m really happy that I didn’t lose concentration for long in that first set. Then, when I took a one-set lead, it was a little easier to play against Daniel with more confidence”, admitted Carlos Alcaraz.
Carlos Alcaraz has won 15 ATP Tour-level singles titles, including four Grand Slam titles and five Masters ATP 1000 titles. He also won the Olympic silver medal at the Paris Olympics.
