Jannik Sinner qualified for the ATP 500 China Open final
Jannik Sinner (Italy) provided the fans with a great final at the ATP 500 China Open in Beijing against Carlos Alcaraz, but ended the dreams of local favorite Yunchaokete Bu after defeating him by 2-0 (6:3, 7:6(3)). The Italian tennis player continues to successfully defend his title in the Chinese capital, and last year eliminated Carlos Alcaraz in the semi-finals.
Jannik Sinner is now on a 15-game winning streak, and Carlos Alcaraz is back in his best form since the Olympics.
Yunchaokete Bu had only played in one ATP 250 event last week in Huangzhou, but clearly has the qualities to compete with the world’s best. The second set was definitely extremely close, but Jannik Sinner took the tiebreak by 6-1 and was able to close out the match.
Carlos Alcaraz leads 5-4 against Jannik Sinner, and the two last met in the semi-finals at Roland Garros, when the Spaniard won in five sets. It was the two tennis players who each won two of the “Grand Slam” tournaments this year.
