Rebecca Sramkova advanced to the second round of the WTA 1000 China Open after eliminating Anhelina Kalinina
Rebecca Sramkova (Slovakia) continues with her successful performance this season and qualified for the second round of the WTA 1000 China Open in Beijing. The Slovakian tennis player eliminated Anhelina Kalinina (Ukraine), who is world’s number 48, after a straight-set victory by 2-0 (6:4, 6:0) in 67 minutes of play.
Rebecca Sramkova started strongly the match and broke already in the first game. Anhelina Kalinina returned the break in the fourth game to equalize to 2:2, but her Slovakian opponent broke again for 3:2 , saving her advance until the end of the set, which she closed in her fourth setpoint.
The second set was under the total dominance of Rebecca Sramkova, who did not gave a single game to her opponent and won by 6:0. Thus, she smashed her Ukrainian opponent for a little more than an hour.
In the second round, Rebecca Sramkova will face the 22nd-seeded Ekaterina Alexandrova (Russia). Their head-to-head balance is 3-1 in favor of Ekaterina Alexandrova.

Elina Avanesyan (Armenia) defeated Emina Bektas (USA) by 2-0 (6:2, 7:5), Diane Parry (France) won her match versus qualifier En Shuo Liang (Taiwan) by 2-1 (4:6, 6:0, 6:0), and Shuai Zhang (China) eliminated McCartney Kessler (USA) after 2-0 (7:6, 7:6).
