Alexander Zverev on Roger Federer’s criticism: Nothing that I don’t know
Germany’s best tennis player Alexander Zverev has shown that he is not bothered by Roger Federer’s criticism of him, who believes that the German is too passive in his game.
“Nothing that I don’t know. It’s clear to me that I didn’t play the way I wanted to play. It was a terrible match for me. So what Roger says is completely okay”, commented Alexander Zverev about his performance in the loss US Open quarterfinals by Taylor Fritz.
“Against the best players in the world you have to take the initiative and play offensively. He didn’t do that against Fritz. When I watch him, I see how he plays passively, too defensively in the decisive moments”, analyzed Roger Federer about the German player.
Alexander Zverev won the Olympic title at the Tokyo Games, but is still waiting for victory in some of the Grand Slam tournaments. He reached the finals of the US Open and Roland Garros, which he lost.
“Maybe it was too much this year, not only for me. At the championship in New York there were no normal results. Look at Carlos Alcaraz, Novak Djokovic, me somewhat. There were many losses, which were not normal”, believes Alexander Zverev.
