In doubles, Rajeev Ram and Austin Krajicek lost to Kevin Krawietz and Tim Puetz by 0-2 (1:6, 6:7(4)).

Later on Saturday, Finland will hope to keep their qualification hopes alive when they play Argentina in Manchester in Group D. In Group A, Belgium play against Brazil in Bologna.

France face the Czech Republic in Valencia, with both teams already eliminated.

This week, matches are played from four groups in four cities. The top two teams from each group qualify for the final stage in Malaga (Spain) in November. Favorites Spain and Australia also secured a place in the finals of the team tournament.
