Sixth-seeded Marie Bouzkova (Czech Republic) advanced to the second round of the WTA 500 Guadalajara Open after eliminated Alexandra Eala (Philippines) at the start of the hard court tennis tournament by 2-0 (6:2, 6:2).
Marie Bouzkova made two break in the first set without giving a breakpoint to her opponent, but needed four breaks in the second set after losing twice the games she was serving.
In the next round Marie Bouzkova will face Lucrezia Stefanini (Italy), who eliminated Ana Sofia Sanchez (Mexico) after 2-1 (6:0, 3:6, 6:2).
Earlier in the day, Martina Trevisan (Italy) defeated the 8th-seeded Caroline Dolehide (USA) by 2-0 (6:3, 6:2), Ashlyn Krueger (USA) eliminated her German opponent Tatjana Maria after 2-0 (7:5, 6:2), and in the match of qualifiers Ena Shibahara (Japan) won versus Kimberly Birrell (Australia) by 2-0 (6:4, 7:6).
