Jack Draper joined Team Great Britain for Davis Cup tennis tournament
Jack Draper is set to play for Great Britain in the men’s Davis Cup team tennis tournament. Last Friday, the 22-year-old British tennis player lost to Jannik Sinner in the semi-finals of the US Open. The Italian player then won the title in New York.
“Jack Draper will join the team in Manchester ahead of the first match on Wednesday. He and his team continue to work hard”, said the British Tennis Federation.
The British team will face Finland on Wednesday before playing with Argentina on Friday. On September 15, the British will play against the 2022 tournament champion Canada.
Henry Patten, who won the men’s doubles title at Wimbledon, replaced Joe Salisbury in the Great Britain team. Billy Harris, veteran Dan Evans and experienced doubles specialist Neal Skupski are also in the squad for the upcoming matches.
Billy Harris replaced Cameron Norrie, who had to withdraw from the US Open due to injury.
The eight-team Davis Cup finals will be held in the Spanish city of Malaga in November.
