Paula Badosa qualified for the quarterfinals of the WTA 500 Ningbo Open
Eighth-seeded Paula Badosa (Spain) qualified for the quarterfinals of the WTA 500 Ningbo Open hard court tennis tournament in China. After a comeback, Paula Badosa defeated the “wild card” Wang Xiyu (China) by 2-1 (6:7(4), 6:1, 6:2) in a match that lasted 2:31 hours.
The 19-year-old Russian tennis talent Mirra Andreeva also qualified for the quarter-finals of the tournament after eliminated Tamara Korpatsch (Germany) by 2-0 (6:0, 6:4). Mirra Andreeva overcame a 1:3 deficit in the second set and reached her eighth WTA quarterfinal of 2024.
Yulia Putintseva (Kazakhstan) also advanced ahead at the WTA 500 Ningbo Open, defeating Ella Seidel (Germany) by 2-0 (6:4, 6:4).
Fifth-seeded Daria Kasatkina (Russia) eliminated Katerina Siniakova (Czech Republic) after 2-1 (1:6, 6:3, 6:2), and
Karolina Muchova (Czech Republic) defeated Olivia Gadecki (Australia) by 2-0 (6:3, 7:5).
