Grigor Dimitrov: I have been playing for Bulgaria all my life
The top Bulgarian tennis player Grigor Dimitrov answered the critics that he is not part of the Bulgarian Davis Cup team and said that during his entire career he played for Bulgaria.
“I’ve been playing for Bulgaria all my life, I’ve had a Bulgarian passport all my life, I’ve had the flag next to me all my life, the coat of arms of Bulgaria is on my racquet. Everyone can draw different conclusions”, said Grigor Dimitrov, asked how he would respond to criticism that he does not give enough to our country and is not so devoted to Bulgaria.
“If everyone says only good things about you, if someone claims that you are perfect in everything, then something is wrong. I like being criticized. There is envy everywhere in the world, not only in Bulgaria. And when I do come across it, lately I’m taking it as a compliment. So you did something. And you keep doing something. And I keep doing something. What greater pleasure than that? If I start talking about the smallest things about myself, it means degrading myself to this level, and I don’t find any sense in that”, added the Bulgarian tennis player.
Grigor Dimitrov will hold a press conference today and later is his demonstration match against Novak Djokovic.
