Cameron Norrie: Victories will come very soon

After about 3 months off the courts, Cameron Norrie made his return to the ATP 250 Nordic Open in Stockholm. And although the British tennis player first match back from a long layoff ended in defeat to Miomir Kecmanovic (Serbia), Cameron Norrie admits he is fully prepared to give tennis his all again.

The former world’s number eight hopes that he will still be able to gather a playing rhythm and will soon start winning regularly on the court.

“If I myself expected that after 3 months of absence, I would return and easily win my first match, it would be a big mistake. It was quite logical to end up losing, because I am still getting into a rhythm and I will have to play more matches until the end of the season to be able to return to official matches”, said Cameron Norrie. “I definitely missed tennis and at first I thought my injury was not that serious. However, things looked very different afterwards and I missed big tournaments, which I regret, because everyone wants to play in such important forums as the Olympics and the US Open. Maybe the advantage for me is that I was able to rest for a while and spend time with my girlfriend, something that hadn’t happened in a long time because of the constant traveling every week. Now the most important thing is to play official matches and I believe that the victories that I definitely need to move forward will come very soon”, added he.

Cameron Norrie has won five ATP Tour singles titles, including a ATP Masters 1000 title at the 2021 Indian Wells Open.
